8. Operations-First AI Strategy

The initial dedicated System05 AI agent should primarily support the building after construction, during commissioning, occupancy, operation, maintenance, repair, and upgrade.
Building operations provide a comparatively bounded environment in which the agent can work with an already approved configuration, an authoritative Building BIOS, an active Digital Twin, known equipment identities, defined operational limits, and observable physical states.
An operations-focused agent may initially support:
- Building status monitoring.
- Occupant assistance.
- Energy and water optimization.
- Environmental-quality monitoring.
- Equipment fault detection.
- Maintenance scheduling.
- Inspection reminders.
- Digital Twin synchronization.
- Cartridge replacement guidance.
- Configuration-change records.
- Emergency notification and decision support.
- Lifecycle documentation.
Operational autonomy shall be introduced according to the criticality of each function. Low-risk comfort and efficiency functions may permit limited autonomous action, while structural, fire, life-safety, security, and emergency functions shall require stronger controls and, where applicable, human confirmation.
The operations-first strategy provides practical value while building the evidence, trust, datasets, interfaces, and governance required for future design and construction agents.
