47. Indoor Environmental Quality

The agent shall support indoor environmental quality while recognizing that sensor measurements and occupant experience provide different but complementary information.
Indoor environmental parameters may include:
- Temperature.
- Relative humidity.
- Carbon dioxide.
- Carbon monoxide.
- Particulate matter.
- Volatile organic compounds.
- Ventilation indicators.
- Noise.
- Lighting.
- Odor reports.
- Radon or other regionally relevant hazards.
- Occupant comfort reports.
The agent shall evaluate sensor location, calibration, response time, environmental interference, and measurement limitations before interpreting results.
Indoor environmental management shall prioritize:
- Life safety.
- Occupant health.
- Moisture and building protection.
- Accessibility and essential comfort.
- Energy and operational efficiency.
The agent may recommend ventilation, filtration, source removal, humidity control, inspection, or temporary occupancy restrictions. It shall not represent general-purpose sensor data as a medical diagnosis.
Privacy-preserving methods should be used when occupancy information is required. Environmental management should avoid unnecessary audio, video, biometric, or personally identifiable data.
