74. APIs and External System Integration

System05 shall provide controlled APIs through which authorized external systems can retrieve information, submit requests, receive events, or execute permitted functions.
External integrations may include:
- Building automation systems.
- Energy-management platforms.
- Utility services.
- Maintenance systems.
- Emergency systems.
- Robotics platforms.
- Manufacturer services.
- Inspection tools.
- Engineering software.
- Owner applications.
- Authorized cloud services.
- Regulatory or certification systems.
APIs shall define:
- Identity and authentication.
- Permission scope.
- Data schema.
- Units and coordinate systems.
- Version.
- Supported operations.
- Rate and resource limits.
- Error behavior.
- Event delivery.
- Data classification.
- Logging requirements.
- Deprecation policy.
External systems shall receive only the access required for their approved function. Read access shall not imply command authority, and command authority shall not imply configuration-modification authority.
API failure shall not disable essential local safety functions. Critical operations shall retain appropriate local control, manual access, and degraded-mode behavior.
