43. Building Envelope and Moisture Monitoring

The agent shall support monitoring of the building envelope to reduce concealed water damage, condensation, mold risk, thermal loss, material degradation, and indoor-environmental problems.
Monitoring may address:
- Roof and facade leakage.
- Window and door interfaces.
- Panel joints.
- Cartridge penetrations.
- Foundation moisture.
- Drainage performance.
- Indoor and cavity humidity.
- Surface temperature.
- Condensation risk.
- Thermal bridging.
- Air leakage indicators.
- Seal and membrane condition.
- Freeze–thaw exposure.
- Moisture migration between assemblies.
The agent should distinguish among liquid-water intrusion, vapor condensation, plumbing leakage, construction moisture, ground moisture, and sensor malfunction.
Moisture events shall be evaluated according to:
- Location.
- Duration.
- Material sensitivity.
- Temperature.
- Ventilation.
- Recurrence.
- Proximity to electrical or structural systems.
- Potential for concealed propagation.
- Required drying or inspection response.
The agent may recommend ventilation changes, localized isolation, inspection, drying, repair, or material replacement. Automated environmental responses shall not conceal the source of persistent moisture or substitute for necessary physical repair.
