The Building Operations AI Agent may support operation and optimization of heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, and other mechanical systems.
Functions may include:
- Monitoring equipment status.
- Managing authorized schedules.
- Coordinating zones.
- Detecting abnormal cycling.
- Evaluating thermal performance.
- Monitoring airflow and pressure.
- Identifying filter or coil degradation.
- Detecting loss of efficiency.
- Supporting seasonal changeover.
- Coordinating ventilation with occupancy.
- Predicting maintenance needs.
- Comparing performance before and after service.
HVAC optimization shall preserve:
- Indoor-air-quality requirements.
- Moisture control.
- Freeze protection.
- Equipment operating limits.
- Required ventilation.
- Occupant accessibility needs.
- Life-safety coordination.
- Approved temperature limits.
The agent may autonomously adjust non-critical operational settings only within authorized ranges. It shall not override certified equipment protections, smoke-control logic, fire-system interfaces, or manufacturer safety limits.
The agent should explain material tradeoffs among comfort, energy use, equipment wear, humidity, ventilation, and cost when recommending operational changes.
