26. Knowledge and Retrieval Architecture

Agents shall retrieve engineering knowledge through controlled, attributable, and version-aware mechanisms.
Authorized knowledge sources may include:
- System05 constitutional documents.
- BDL schemas.
- Engineering Profiles.
- Component and Interface Registries.
- Building BIOS records.
- Digital Twin records.
- Codes and standards.
- Certified test results.
- Manufacturer documentation.
- Inspection and maintenance records.
- Approved project decisions.
- Qualified engineering databases.
Retrieved information should retain:
- Source identity.
- Document or record version.
- Publication or effective date.
- Applicability.
- Authority level.
- Access classification.
- Retrieval time.
- Relevant limitations.
The agent shall distinguish mandatory requirements from recommendations, approved evidence from general information, and current versions from obsolete material.
When reliable knowledge cannot be retrieved, the agent shall disclose the limitation and shall not fabricate a requirement, approval, measurement, component capability, or historical record.
