80. Human Override, Emergency Stop and Manual Control

Authorized humans shall retain effective means to interrupt, override, restrict, or disable AI-controlled functions.
Override mechanisms may include:
- Physical manual controls.
- Local control panels.
- Emergency-stop devices.
- Software suspension.
- Capability revocation.
- Network isolation.
- Safe-mode activation.
- Manual equipment control.
Emergency Stop functions shall be direct, identifiable, accessible, and independent of the AI agent where appropriate.
The agent shall not obstruct, delay, conceal, or automatically reverse an authorized human override unless doing so is necessary to prevent a clearly defined immediate hazard under certified safety logic.
Override events shall record:
- Initiating person or system.
- Time.
- Affected capability.
- Previous state.
- Resulting state.
- Reason where available.
- Conditions for restoration.
Return from override or emergency stop shall require verification that the affected systems are safe and that the original cause has been addressed.
