The Building Operations AI Agent may optimize energy performance within approved safety, health, comfort, operational, and contractual boundaries.
Energy-management functions may include:
- Load forecasting.
- Schedule optimization.
- HVAC optimization.
- Lighting control.
- Appliance and equipment coordination.
- Demand-response participation.
- Renewable-energy utilization.
- Energy-storage coordination.
- Peak-demand reduction.
- Tariff-aware operation.
- Energy anomaly detection.
- Performance comparison.
- Carbon and cost reporting.
The agent shall distinguish energy reduction from genuine operational efficiency. Energy use shall not be reduced in ways that create:
- Unsafe temperatures.
- Insufficient ventilation.
- Moisture accumulation.
- Freeze risk.
- Equipment damage.
- Accessibility barriers.
- Loss of essential services.
- Increased lifecycle cost.
- Hidden maintenance problems.
Optimization objectives shall be transparent and adjustable by authorized users. The agent should explain material conflicts among energy cost, comfort, equipment wear, resilience, and environmental performance.
