64. BDL and Engineering Compiler Integration

The Building Definition Language shall provide the structured definition from which approved engineering and operational information may be compiled.
BDL may define:
- Spatial organization.
- Structural configuration.
- Nodes, Cartridges, and Interfaces.
- Installed systems.
- Component identities.
- Functional relationships.
- Engineering Profiles.
- Operating constraints.
- Control zones.
- Inspection requirements.
- Lifecycle requirements.
- Robot-access requirements.
- Safety and emergency relationships.
The Engineering Compiler shall transform relevant BDL definitions into validated outputs suitable for construction, commissioning, Building BIOS initialization, Digital Twin initialization, inspection, maintenance, manufacturing, and robotic execution.
The Compiler may generate:
- Validated configuration packages.
- BIOS initialization records.
- Interface compatibility results.
- Operational limit sets.
- Component and connection registries.
- Control-point mappings.
- Sensor mappings.
- Inspection plans.
- Maintenance requirements.
- Robot-readable work instructions.
- Configuration hashes and signatures.
- Evidence and conformance reports.
The Engineering Compiler shall not operate as an unrestricted real-time building controller. Its role is to validate and generate trusted engineering outputs, while runtime actions remain governed by the Building BIOS, deterministic controls, applicable safety systems, and authorized agents.
Material operational changes that alter configuration assumptions shall be returned to the BDL and Compiler workflow where required. Runtime adaptation shall not be used to bypass engineering validation.
