54. Preventive and Predictive Maintenance

The agent shall support both preventive and predictive maintenance.
Preventive maintenance is performed according to defined time, usage, environmental, or regulatory intervals. Predictive maintenance is initiated based on evidence that condition or performance is approaching an unacceptable state.
Maintenance planning may use:
- Operating hours.
- Cycle counts.
- Sensor trends.
- Efficiency loss.
- Vibration.
- Temperature.
- Pressure.
- Leakage.
- Environmental exposure.
- Previous failure history.
- Manufacturer guidance.
- Component criticality.
- Spare-part availability.
Predictive recommendations shall identify:
- The predicted condition.
- Supporting evidence.
- Estimated time or usage to intervention.
- Confidence and uncertainty.
- Consequences of delay.
- Recommended maintenance window.
- Required inspection or confirmation.
- Relevant parts and skills.
- Maintenance optimization shall not defer required work solely to reduce short-term cost.
After maintenance, the agent should verify restoration of function, update relevant records, establish a new baseline where appropriate, and monitor for recurrence.
