73. Recompilation and Engineering Change Triggers

Operational information may reveal that the current engineering definition requires review, modification, or recompilation.
Triggers may include:
- Component replacement with a different model.
- Capacity change.
- New Cartridge or Interface.
- Structural modification.
- Control-system modification.
- Repeated operation outside expected limits.
- Change of occupancy or use.
- New Engineering Profile.
- Code or regulatory change.
- Safety-related discovery.
- Material sensor reconfiguration.
- Firmware change affecting behavior.
- Emergency repair.
- Unapproved physical modification.
- Significant Digital Twin–BIOS conflict.
The agent shall classify a proposed or observed change according to whether it is:
- Routine operation.
- Parameter adjustment.
- Temporary override.
- Like-for-like replacement.
- Configuration change.
- Engineering change.
- Safety-critical change.
- Change requiring regulatory approval.
Where recompilation is required, the affected BDL definition shall be updated through a controlled engineering process. The Engineering Compiler shall evaluate compatibility, dependencies, constraints, and evidence before producing an updated package.
The previous approved configuration shall remain recoverable. A new compiled configuration shall not become operational merely because compilation completed; required review, authorization, commissioning, and physical verification shall also occur.
