Section 43 of 102
42. Structural Condition Awareness
Stable section ID: S05-CON-010-SECTION-43 · 27 content blocks
Structural Condition Awareness enables the agent to identify indications that may require inspection or engineering evaluation.
The agent may monitor:
- Abnormal displacement.
- Unexpected strain patterns.
- Excessive vibration.
- Settlement indicators.
- Repeated impact events.
- Connection movement.
- Interface lock condition.
- Moisture or corrosion near structural elements.
- Temperature exposure.
- Post-seismic or post-storm behavior.
- Changes following repair, alteration, or change of use.
Structural awareness shall be based on the known load path:
Member → Cartridge → Node → Cartridge → Member
The agent should interpret observations within the topology of the structural system and identify potentially affected upstream and downstream components.
The Building Operations AI Agent shall not declare a structure safe solely on the basis of ordinary sensor readings. It shall not replace required inspection, structural calculation, testing, or professional judgment.
Following a material event, the agent may:
- Preserve relevant sensor data.
- Identify affected zones.
- Compare pre-event and post-event behavior.
- Restrict non-essential automated actions.
- Recommend evacuation or access control where authorized criteria are met.
- Support inspection planning.
- Record verified findings.
- Assist recovery coordination.
Authorization to reoccupy or certify structural adequacy shall remain with the appropriate human and regulatory authorities.
