Section 38 of 102
37. Continuous Building Condition Monitoring
Stable section ID: S05-CON-010-SECTION-38 · 27 content blocks
The Building Operations AI Agent may continuously monitor the condition of the building using available sensors, system events, equipment status, inspection records, occupant reports, and external information.
Monitoring may address:
- Structural behavior.
- Node and Interface condition.
- Envelope performance.
- Water intrusion.
- Mechanical equipment.
- Electrical systems.
- Plumbing systems.
- Indoor environmental quality.
- Energy and water consumption.
- Fire and life-safety system status.
- Physical security events.
- Occupant comfort.
- Communication and control availability.
Continuous monitoring does not require every component to contain its own sensor. System05 may use selected smart Nodes, centralized replaceable sensor modules, indirect measurements, equipment telemetry, and human inspections to obtain sufficient operational awareness.
The agent shall monitor the quality and availability of the monitoring system itself. Missing, stale, implausible, or contradictory data shall be reported as a loss of awareness rather than interpreted as evidence that the building is functioning normally.
Monitoring frequency shall reflect:
- System criticality.
- Rate of physical change.
- Sensor capabilities.
- Energy and communication limitations.
- Occupancy.
- Environmental conditions.
- Current risk level.
- Active alarms or recovery operations.
- Monitoring shall preserve occupant privacy and avoid unnecessary collection of personal information.
