Interface & Cartridge Architecture

Third parties—including manufacturers, universities, research institutions, software developers, engineering firms, local fabricators, and independent inventors—may develop System05-compatible interfaces and Cartridges.

Third-party developers shall receive access to:

published specifications;

controlled reference geometry;

Digital Interface Descriptor schemas;

Cartridge SDK resources;

test requirements;

reference mating components;

compatibility tools;

certification procedures;

governance-submission procedures.

A third-party product shall be evaluated against the same applicable requirements as a first-party or reference implementation.

Development shall progress through defined maturity states:

concept;

preliminary engineering;

simulated design;

physical prototype;

laboratory test article;

interoperability candidate;

pilot installation;

certified production design;

monitored field deployment;

Third-party extensions may introduce new capabilities through reserved or extensible portions of an interface. They shall not:

modify controlled geometry without approval;

interfere with mandatory capabilities;

create unsafe state transitions;

conceal required data;

bypass authentication;

falsely claim certification;

prevent ordinary service by other manufacturers.

A third party proposing changes to a universal interface shall submit the change through Interface Governance rather than creating an incompatible variant under the existing identity.

Regional developers shall be able to design member-specific or material-specific Cartridges while maintaining the universal external interface. This capability is central to global adaptation and local manufacturing.
