Interface & Cartridge Architecture

Installation is the controlled process through which a Cartridge is transported from its pre-installation condition to a physically connected and verifiable condition within a specific host.

Installation shall be based on the approved Cartridge Type, actual host configuration, project design, applicable Engineering Profile, and current compatibility records.

Before installation, the responsible party shall verify:

Cartridge and host identities;

current certification and registration status;

approved location and orientation;

compatibility of every interface domain;

shipping and storage condition;

absence of visible damage, contamination, corrosion, deformation, or missing parts;

validity of calibration and software versions;

availability of tools, access, lifting equipment, and protective equipment;

readiness of utilities and supporting systems;

completion of required preceding work.

The installation documentation shall define:

Cartridge mass and center of gravity;

approved lifting and grasping points;

permitted orientations during handling;

approach direction;

installation envelope;

datum references;

alignment sequence;

maximum engagement force;

locking sequence;

fastener requirements;

seal installation;

utility-connection sequence;

required measurements;

hold points;

rejection criteria.

Field modification shall not be permitted unless covered by an approved procedure. Drilling, cutting, grinding, heating, welding, bending, reprogramming, substituting fasteners, changing seals, or modifying interface geometry may invalidate compatibility and certification.

Installation evidence shall include, as applicable:

identity scan;

pre-installation photographs or scans;

dimensional verification;

tool identification and calibration status;

applied torque, tension, force, or displacement;

fastener and lock confirmation;

pressure or leakage test;

electrical continuity and insulation tests;

communication verification;

installer identity;

date, time, and location;

recorded nonconformities.

After physical installation, the Cartridge shall enter the Connected—Not Commissioned state. It shall not be treated as Operational until commissioning has been successfully completed.
