56. Interface Profiles

An Interface Profile is a coordinated set of requirements selecting the specific options, limits, capabilities, and test conditions applicable to a defined use.
The base Interface Specification may permit multiple materials, capacities, environmental conditions, communication methods, or installation strategies. The Interface Profile narrows these options into an implementable configuration.
An Interface Profile shall define:
applicable interface family and version;
intended application;
required compatibility classes;
mandatory capabilities;
permitted optional capabilities;
prohibited combinations;
controlled geometry;
load or service limits;
material restrictions;
environmental conditions;
safety classification;
inspection and maintenance requirements;
communication and data requirements;
robotic requirements;
evidence and certification level.
Profiles may be created for:
structural applications;
building zones;
utility services;
environmental exposure;
fire or seismic conditions;
manual or robotic installation;
residential, commercial, industrial, or emergency construction;
legacy-system integration;
prototype and research use.
A Profile shall not modify the constitutional interface boundary or create a hidden proprietary dependency. It may specialize the universal requirements but shall preserve traceability to the base specification.
Every installed interface shall identify the selected Profile. Where several Profiles apply simultaneously, their interaction and priority shall be validated.
Changes to the selected Interface Profile shall be treated as configuration changes and may require renewed compatibility verification, engineering review, or recommissioning.
