34. Cartridge Classification

Every Cartridge shall be classified using multiple independent attributes. A single product may belong to more than one functional class.
The primary functional classes are:
Structural Cartridge;
End Cartridge;
Functional Cartridge;
Utility Cartridge;
Smart Cartridge;
Sensor Cartridge;
Control Cartridge;
Safety Cartridge;
- Hybrid Cartridge.
- Each Cartridge shall additionally be classified by the following attributes.
Installation permanence:
temporary;
frequently removable;
service-replaceable;
semi-permanent;
permanent.
Criticality:
non-critical;
operationally important;
safety-related;
safety-critical;
structurally critical.
Intelligence level:
passive;
identifiable;
monitored;
communicative;
controlled;
autonomous within defined authority.
Environmental exposure:
conditioned interior;
unconditioned protected;
exterior sheltered;
exterior exposed;
wet;
buried;
corrosive;
high-temperature;
fire-exposed;
hazardous-location.
Service scale:
component;
room;
building zone;
building;
multi-building or infrastructure.
Compatibility scope:
universal;
family-specific;
capacity-class-specific;
Regional Engineering Profile;
transitional;
legacy-adapter;
experimental.
Lifecycle condition:
prototype;
test-only;
certified;
installed;

The complete classification shall determine the applicable validation, certification, identification, inspection, maintenance, cybersecurity, and governance requirements.
A manufacturer shall not use the general word “Cartridge” as evidence of System05 compatibility. The complete classification and conformance status shall be declared.
