75. Multi-Manufacturer Ecosystem
System05 shall support an ecosystem in which independent manufacturers can develop competing components and Cartridges while preserving compatibility through shared interfaces.
No manufacturer shall be required to disclose proprietary internal designs merely to demonstrate compatibility. However, all information necessary to verify interface behavior, safety, conformance, maintenance, and lifecycle performance shall be available to the appropriate users and certification authorities.
Participation in the multi-manufacturer ecosystem requires:
registered manufacturer identity;
registered Cartridge Type and Instance identities;
declared Interface Types and Compatibility Classes;
published Capability Declarations;
applicable test and certification evidence;
controlled production processes;
traceable materials and critical subcomponents;
version and change management;
incident and corrective-action processes;
continued access to installation and maintenance information;
lifecycle and end-of-support policies.
Manufacturers shall compete through internal engineering, materials, performance, cost, durability, intelligence, appearance, manufacturing method, and additional capabilities. They shall not create artificial incompatibility by altering standardized external interfaces without authorization.
Products claiming the same Compatibility Class shall be tested against controlled reference interfaces or representative products from independent manufacturers. Testing only against the manufacturer’s own mating component is insufficient where multi-manufacturer interoperability is claimed.
System05 shall prevent one vendor from becoming the exclusive authority over a universal interface merely because it developed an early implementation. Intellectual-property rights affecting mandatory interoperability shall be disclosed and governed through appropriate licensing and governance requirements.
A manufacturer may offer optional proprietary functions, but minimum standardized capabilities shall remain accessible without requiring unrelated proprietary services.
If a manufacturer leaves the market, installed Cartridges shall not lose their identity, documentation, compatibility records, emergency information, or basic serviceability. Critical records shall therefore be preserved through the System05 Registry or another durable authorized repository.
