71. Robotic Discovery

Robotic Discovery enables a robot or automated system to locate, identify, and interpret a Cartridge or interface before physical interaction.
Discovery shall establish:
object presence;
identity;
object class;
approximate location;
orientation;
target interface;
current state;
handling restrictions;
authorized task.
Robotic Discovery may use:
Digital Twin coordinates;
Building BIOS records;
Data Matrix or visual markers;
geometric recognition;
RFID or NFC;
wireless identity;
depth sensing;
embedded beacons;
local sensor fusion.
A discovery result shall carry a confidence measure. If identity, pose, or state confidence is below the threshold required for the task, the robot shall stop, seek additional observations, or request human assistance.
Visual similarity shall not establish identity. The robot shall verify the specific Cartridge Instance where the task affects safety, configuration, or lifecycle records.
Discovery markers shall reference the Cartridge coordinate system and functional datums. Their location, orientation, size, visibility, environmental durability, and replacement procedure shall be controlled.
The robot shall determine whether the required approach and exclusion envelopes are clear before initiating movement.
A mismatch between the Digital Twin and observed physical conditions shall generate a reconciliation event rather than silent model correction.
