6. Robotics Architecture Objectives

The System05 Robotics Architecture shall pursue the following objectives:
- Enable progressive automation without requiring immediate robotic deployment.
- Improve worker and occupant safety.
- Reduce heavy, repetitive, hazardous, and ergonomically harmful tasks.
- Improve assembly precision and repeatability.
- Reduce installation errors and rework.
- Support objective verification of physical work.
- Preserve compatibility across robot and tool manufacturers.
- Support human, assisted, collaborative, and automated workflows.
- Maintain manual fallback where required.
- Reduce robotic perception and planning complexity through standardized building features.
- Support controlled assembly and disassembly.
- Preserve structural stability during intermediate states.
- Enable inspection, maintenance, repair, and replacement throughout the building lifecycle.
- Support regional manufacturing and different automation levels.
- Prevent proprietary robotic lock-in.
- Protect the authority of qualified engineers, inspectors, operators, and regulators.
- Maintain traceability from instruction to physical outcome.
- Support affordable adoption through modular and reusable robotic capabilities.
- Allow future robotic generations to interact with long-lived physical Nodes and Interfaces.
- Ensure that loss of a robot, network, model, or automation provider does not make the building unusable.
The architecture shall favor passive physical intelligence—such as self-aligning geometry, mechanical keying, capture features, and visible state indication—where these methods can reduce software complexity and failure risk.
Automation shall be justified by lifecycle value rather than novelty alone.
