17. Robotic Role of the Node

The Node shall serve as the primary coordination point for structural, geometric, digital, inspection, and robotic interaction within the System05 physical architecture.
The Node may provide:
- Stable structural reference geometry.
- Primary building coordinate references.
- Standardized Cartridge ports.
- Robot-accessible approach directions.
- Coarse and fine alignment features.
- Temporary capture.
- Final structural locking.
- Tool engagement points.
- Fastener access.
- Physical state indicators.
- Machine-readable identity.
- Inspection access.
- Temporary bracing connections.
- Controlled removal features.
- Sensor pathways.
- A replaceable centralized Smart Module.
The Node shall coordinate loads among connected members and Cartridges while preserving predictable assembly behavior. The applicable load path shall remain:
Member → Cartridge → Node → Cartridge → Member
Robotic interaction shall not weaken the constitutional requirement that the Node remain protected and that replaceable or sacrificial elements fail before unacceptable Node failure where applicable.
Node geometry should enable a robot to determine:
- Node identity and version.
- Node type and orientation.
- Available Interface ports.
- Occupied and unoccupied ports.
- Cartridge insertion direction.
- Current capture and lock state.
- Required tool.
- Allowed forces and torques.
- Inspection requirements.
- Temporary stability conditions.
Robotic features shall not obstruct human installation, inspection, emergency access, fire protection, or Smart Module replacement. Failure of the Smart Module or robotic sensing system shall not remove the Node’s essential structural function.
