34. Power, Data and Fluid Interfaces

Robotic systems may require temporary or permanent access to power, data, pneumatic, hydraulic, cooling, vacuum, or other services.
These services shall use defined Interfaces specifying:
- Service type.
- Voltage, current, pressure, or flow.
- Connector geometry.
- Keying.
- Polarity or direction.
- Communication protocol.
- Isolation method.
- Grounding.
- Environmental protection.
- Contamination control.
- Locking.
- Emergency disconnection.
- Inspection and maintenance.
Robot service connections shall remain distinguishable from building utility connections. A maintenance robot shall not be able to connect accidentally to an incompatible building service.
Where cables or hoses are used, routing shall account for:
- Entanglement.
- Trip hazards.
- Crushing.
- Bending limits.
- Abrasion.
- Fire exposure.
- Tool motion.
- Human movement.
- Emergency retreat.
Wireless communication may support coordination but shall not replace required local safety functions where communication loss could create unacceptable risk.
Temporary robotic services shall be removed or placed in a verified safe condition after completion. Connection and disconnection events shall be recorded when relevant to safety, maintenance, or resource use.
