13. Physical–Digital Integration

Every consequential robotic operation shall maintain traceability between approved digital instructions and verified physical conditions.
The Building BIOS shall provide the authoritative approved configuration. The Digital Twin shall represent the building’s observed, measured, inferred, historical, predicted, and simulated state. The BDL shall define the structured building representation, and the Engineering Compiler may generate validated robotic work packages from approved inputs.
A robotic task should establish a traceable chain:
- Approved building configuration.
- Authorized work package.
- Verified robot and tool identity.
- Verified component identity.
- Verified physical preconditions.
- Executed command sequence.
- Recorded robot and tool response.
- Physical outcome evidence.
- Independent or required verification.
- Building BIOS and Digital Twin reconciliation.
Digital instructions shall not override incompatible physical evidence. If the Digital Twin predicts a clear path but the robot detects an obstruction, the robot shall stop or replan only within its authorized limits.
Completion of a command sequence shall not establish completion of the physical task. Physical completion may require:
- Verified position.
- Confirmed lock state.
- Fastener evidence.
- Utility test results.
- Dimensional inspection.
- Stability confirmation.
- Agreement among independent evidence sources.
Digital records may describe, authorize, and record physical reality, but they shall not create physical reality through assertion.
