3. Role of Robotics within System05

Robotics constitutes one operational layer within the broader System05 engineering platform. It shall interact with the Physical Building Layer, Universal Interface Architecture, Building Definition Language, Engineering Compiler, Building BIOS, Digital Twin, identity registries, evidence systems, and human-governance mechanisms.
Robots may perform physical tasks, collect evidence, operate tools, transport components, and communicate machine state. They shall not become the authoritative source of engineering requirements or approved building configuration.
The Building BIOS shall identify the approved configuration, component identities, Interface versions, protected parameters, and applicable lifecycle state. The Digital Twin shall represent observed, measured, inferred, historical, predicted, and simulated conditions. Robotic systems shall use this information within their authorized scope while independently verifying the physical conditions required for their tasks.
Robotic systems may support:
- Off-site manufacturing and fabrication.
- Warehouse handling and kitting.
- Site surveying and mapping.
- Material delivery.
- Component placement.
- Node and Cartridge assembly.
- Fastening and connection.
- Utility installation.
- Dimensional inspection.
- Construction-progress recording.
- Maintenance and service.
- Hazardous-area inspection.
- Controlled component removal.
- Selective deconstruction.
A robot shall not approve its own consequential work. Where engineering approval, inspection, commissioning, or regulatory acceptance is required, the applicable independent human or qualified system shall remain responsible.
Robotics shall extend the System05 principle of modularity. Robots, tools, end effectors, control systems, and automation services should remain replaceable implementations connected through stable, documented interfaces.
