15. Foundational Robotics Principles

All System05 robotic architectures, specifications, products, and deployments shall comply with the following foundational principles:
Robot-Ready Before Robot-Dependent Buildings shall support future robotics without requiring robots for essential construction or operation.
Human Safety Before Productivity Robotic speed and output shall never take priority over human safety.
Interface Before Implementation Robotic interaction requirements shall be defined before robot-specific solutions.
Physical State Before Digital Completion A task shall not be declared complete without appropriate physical evidence.
- Capability Does Not Create Authority A robot may execute only actions within its explicit permission.
- No Self-Approval A robot shall not independently approve its own consequential work.
Stable Building, Replaceable Robot Long-lived building Interfaces shall outlast individual robot and software generations.
Human and Machine Compatibility Robot-ready components shall remain usable through qualified human procedures.
Passive Safety and Passive Intelligence Geometry, keying, capture, stops, and physical indicators should reduce reliance on software.
- Progressive Automation Automation shall be introduced capability by capability.
- Safe Intermediate States Every assembly sequence shall account for temporary structural conditions.
- Controlled Release A robot shall not release a component before capture and stability are verified.
- Recoverability Robotic tasks shall provide safe pause, retreat, support, inspection, and recovery pathways.
- Open Interoperability Robotic compatibility shall not depend unnecessarily on one vendor.
- Traceable Execution Consequential actions shall be identifiable, authorized, recorded, and verifiable.
Truthful Uncertainty Uncertain perception, localization, state, or compatibility shall be explicitly represented.
Lifecycle Access Robotic access shall support inspection, maintenance, replacement, and deconstruction.
Independent Safety Protection Essential safety limits shall not depend solely on general-purpose AI or non-safety-rated software.
Manual Fallback Essential building functions shall remain available when robotic systems are unavailable.
Controlled Evolution New robotic capabilities shall enter System05 through testing, governance, versioning, and qualification.
