37. Temporary Supports and Robotic Bracing

Temporary supports and robotic bracing shall be treated as defined engineering components rather than improvised construction aids.
Temporary-support systems may include:
- Props.
- Shores.
- Braces.
- Stabilizing frames.
- Temporary Cartridges.
- Lifting frames.
- Tension restraints.
- Counterweights.
- Ground anchors.
- Robotic holding fixtures.
Each temporary support shall define:
- Identity.
- Rated capacity.
- Permitted load direction.
- Connection Interface.
- Installation sequence.
- Required preload.
- Lock state.
- Inspection method.
- Removal condition.
- Compatible construction states.
- Failure implications.
Nodes and other components may provide standardized temporary-bracing ports. These ports shall remain distinguishable from permanent structural Interfaces.
The robot shall not remove or unload a temporary support until the required permanent components, locks, bracing, and verification evidence are complete.
Where a robot provides temporary support through continuous holding, the task shall address:
- Robot power loss.
- Brake performance.
- Controller failure.
- Emergency stop.
- Ground stability.
- Communication loss.
- Human intervention.
- Transfer to an independent support.
A robot should not serve as the sole temporary structural support unless specifically engineered, protected, monitored, and authorized for that role.
