31. Cartridge Manufacturability

Cartridges shall be designed as controlled transformation elements between standardized Node Interfaces and diverse members, panels, utilities, or functional components.
Cartridge manufacturability shall address:
- Standardized external Interface envelope.
- application-specific internal geometry.
- alignment.
- capture.
- locking.
- load transfer.
- member attachment.
- sealing.
- moisture management.
- protection.
- replacement.
- identification.
The external compatibility surface shall remain controlled independently from internal manufacturer innovation.
Cartridges may be produced from metals, polymers, composites, timber products, cementitious materials, or hybrid systems when applicable requirements are satisfied.
Manufacturing shall control the relationship between the external Node Interface and the internal member connection. Errors in this relationship may create assembly misalignment even when each region appears individually conforming.
Cartridges intended for conventional lumber or regional materials shall accommodate declared dimensional and material variation without relying on uncontrolled field modification.
Sacrificial or replaceable Cartridge functions shall be physically and digitally identifiable.
Where a Cartridge includes embedded fasteners, adhesives, inserts, reinforcement, sensors, or conductors, their actual presence and configuration shall be verified.
Cartridges shall support inspection of completed engagement and, where required, controlled removal without damage to the Node.
Product families shall distinguish structural, nonstructural, utility, envelope, sensing, temporary, and adapter Cartridges.
