20. Prohibition of Undocumented Production and Silent Substitution

Undocumented production shall be prohibited for System05-conforming products.
Consequential production shall not proceed from:
- Unapproved drawings.
- obsolete models.
- verbal instructions that alter requirements.
- uncontrolled machine programs.
- unidentified materials.
- unqualified processes.
- unauthorized repairs.
- undocumented substitutions.
Silent substitution shall include any unrecorded change to:
- Material source or grade.
- product geometry.
- component version.
- process.
- machine program.
- heat treatment.
- coating.
- adhesive.
- fastener.
- supplier.
- inspection method.
- acceptance criterion.
- software or firmware.
- evidence-generation method.
- A substitution that appears equivalent commercially shall not automatically be equivalent technically.
Proposed substitutions shall be evaluated for effects on:
- Interface compatibility.
- structural behavior.
- tolerances.
- fire performance.
- durability.
- corrosion.
- sealing.
- process capability.
- inspection.
- certification.
- lifecycle maintenance.
Emergency substitutions may be authorized only through a controlled process that identifies scope, duration, rationale, risk, evidence, and responsible authority.
Unauthorized discovery of undocumented production shall trigger containment, investigation, impact assessment, and review of affected products.
Records shall not be altered retrospectively to make an unauthorized action appear planned.
