13. Manufacturing Object and Relationship Model

System05 shall define manufacturing through identifiable objects and governed relationships.
Manufacturing objects may include:
- Product.
- component.
- subcomponent.
- raw material.
- material lot.
- batch.
- workpiece.
- work-in-progress unit.
- operation.
- process route.
- machine.
- tool.
- fixture.
- gauge.
- operator.
- robot.
- software package.
- inspection record.
- nonconformance.
- release record.
- shipment unit.
Key relationships may include:
- Made-from.
- processed-by.
- assembled-with.
- measured-by.
- inspected-by.
- operated-by.
- approved-by.
- derived-from.
- replaced-by.
- reworked-under.
- shipped-with.
- installed-as.
Each consequential relationship shall be represented at a level of detail sufficient for traceability, investigation, compatibility evaluation, and lifecycle management.
The object model shall support one-to-one, one-to-many, many-to-one, and many-to-many relationships. A material lot may feed multiple products, and one product may contain material from multiple lots.
Objects shall have controlled identities where required. Temporary identities may be used during production but shall remain linked to the final product identity.
Relationship records shall distinguish intended association from confirmed physical association. A production order assigning a material lot to a part shall not prove that the material was actually consumed.
Object states, versions, and authority shall be represented explicitly.
Manufacturing software may implement the object model differently, but exchange across System05 boundaries shall preserve the required semantics.
