83. Lifecycle Representation

Lifecycle Representation shall describe the complete sequence of states, events, responsibilities, evidence, and decisions affecting a building Entity.
Lifecycle stages may include:
concept;
design;
analysis;
approval;
manufacturing;
factory testing;
transportation;
storage;
site installation;
commissioning;
operation;
inspection;
maintenance;
repair;
replacement;
upgrade;
removal;
reuse;
refurbishment;
recycling;
disposal.
Each lifecycle record shall include:
Entity ID;
lifecycle stage;
start and completion dates;
responsible authority;
configuration version;
events;
evidence;
resulting state;
next required action.

- Lifecycle history shall be append-only.
- Changes in ownership, location, host, or building shall not erase the Entity’s previous lifecycle record.
- Planned lifecycle requirements shall remain distinguishable from completed lifecycle events.
