7. BDL Responsibilities

BDL shall be responsible for expressing:
persistent building and entity identities;
entity Types and Instance relationships;
spatial and coordinate relationships;
physical and logical composition;
Interface and connection definitions;
provided and required capabilities;
topology and dependencies;
applicable Engineering Profiles;
engineering requirements and constraints;
configuration states and alternatives;
evidence and provenance;
unresolved assumptions and unknown values;
version and revision relationships;
data required by the Engineering Compiler;
traceability to BIOS and Digital Twin objects.
BDL shall also define whether a statement is:
required;
preferred;
optional;
prohibited;
proposed;
observed;
verified;
inferred;
- superseded.
- BDL shall not claim authority beyond the evidence and approval attached to the definition.
A BDL declaration generated by software or AI shall identify its generator, version, source inputs, and review status.
