BDL shall represent the following domains:

building identity;

spatial organization;

coordinate systems;

geometry references;

materials;

Components;

assemblies;

structural members;

Universal Nodes;

Cartridges;

Interfaces;

adapters;

connection relationships;

utility networks;

sensors and actuators;

control relationships;

capabilities;

dependencies;

loads and performance requirements;

Engineering Profiles;

states and lifecycle stages;

evidence and certification;

configuration alternatives;

revisions and provenance.

BDL may reference external resources such as:

CAD and BIM geometry;

structural-analysis models;

simulation models;

calculations;

product documents;

test reports;

certificates;

images;

inspection records;

manufacturing files;

software packages.

BDL shall define the semantic relationship to these resources without requiring every external format to be embedded directly.

BDL does not itself execute:

structural analysis;

energy simulation;

robotic motion;

controller logic;

BIOS commands;

AI inference;
