85. Compatibility Evaluation Engine

The Compatibility Evaluation Engine determines whether entities can safely and correctly interact within a defined configuration and lifecycle state.
Compatibility shall be evaluated across relevant dimensions, including:
identity and version;
geometry;
tolerance;
structural capacity;
stiffness and movement;
materials;
fire and thermal behavior;
moisture and environmental exposure;
electrical characteristics;
fluid characteristics;
data protocols;
safety functions;
robotic access;
manufacturing;
inspection;
maintenance;
certification;
- lifecycle state.
- Physical fit alone shall not establish compatibility.
Compatibility may be directional or asymmetric. An entity may satisfy another’s requirements without the reverse being true.
The engine shall compare required capabilities with offered capabilities and validate applicable conditions, evidence, versions, and limits.
Adapters shall be evaluated as complete engineering entities. Their use shall not hide lost capacity, additional tolerances, changed load paths, inspection needs, or lifecycle obligations.
Compatibility outcomes may include compatible, conditionally compatible, incompatible, indeterminate, deprecated, or compatible only through an approved adapter.
Every configuration-significant compatibility decision shall be traceable and reproducible.
