77. Identity Resolution Engine

The Identity Resolution Engine determines the stable identity of every source, definition, type, physical instance, digital instance, component, interface, evidence object, rule, and output.
It shall distinguish:
global identities;
registry identities;
package-local identities;
project identities;
building-instance identities;
manufacturer identities;
physical serial identities;
aliases;
- historical identities.
- Identity resolution shall not rely solely upon names, filenames, geometry, position, or visual similarity.
The engine shall detect duplicate identities, conflicting assignments, invalid aliases, identity reuse, missing authority, and references to revoked or superseded objects.
Type identity shall remain distinct from instance identity. A cartridge family, manufactured cartridge, installed cartridge, and replacement candidate shall not share one undifferentiated identity.
Physical tags, barcodes, QR codes, embedded identifiers, and sensor-reported identities may support resolution, but their integrity and relationship to the physical object shall be verified as required.
AI-assisted matching may propose candidate identities for legacy or discovered objects. Safety-significant identity assignments shall require governed confirmation and shall not be established solely through probabilistic similarity.
Identity histories shall preserve replacement, migration, reuse, and reconciliation events.
