75. Evidence Graph

The Evidence Graph links engineering claims, requirements, objects, observations, calculations, certifications, and approvals to the evidence that supports or challenges them.
Graph entities may include:
claims;
evidence objects;
test results;
calculations;
inspections;
observations;
sensor records;
certifications;
authorities;
methods;
approvals.
Relationships shall identify whether evidence supports, contradicts, limits, supersedes, derives from, verifies, or remains insufficient for a claim.
The Evidence Graph shall preserve scope. Evidence concerning one product version, batch, orientation, environment, interface, or lifecycle state shall not automatically support another.
- Evidence chains shall remain traceable from final engineering conclusions back to primary sources and methods.
- Conflicting evidence shall remain visible until resolved by the appropriate authority.
- The graph shall identify expired, revoked, incomplete, altered, indirect, or out-of-scope evidence.
A large quantity of weak evidence shall not automatically equal sufficient evidence. Sufficiency shall be determined by applicable rules, consequence, independence, quality, and authority.
